We present a 40ks Chandra X-ray observation of the Galactic supernova remnant G293.8+0.6, a composite remnant in the southern hemisphere. Though this SNR exhibited pronounced centrally-brightened features in the MOST survey, until now it has been unobserved in the X-ray. These Chandra data reveal a soft point source near the geometric center of the remnant with no bright synchrotron nebula accompanying the object. Thus it seems that it is not a normal young pulsar; however, radio observations seem to suggest the opposite. We discuss this apparent discrepancy in the context of recent observations of compact objects in supernova remnants.
