The spin periods of the planets have been obtained by using the idea that in a dust ring rotating around the sun an embryo, which grows due to the gravitational accretion of particles, acquires spin motion for want of balance of orbital angular momentum of the ring's material before and after agglomeration. A fraction of the above balance of angular momentum is considered to produce spin motion in the planet. The effect of the asymmetry of particle's impacts on the growing embryo in a direction perpendicular to its orbital plane is investigated which yields the axial inclination of the planets in fair agreement with the observations.
