I present samples from an online introductory astronomy course. The course is given within the web-based environment known as WebCT. I discuss the utility of such on-line course supplements for both large and small astronomy sections alike. I develop a layered pedagogy approach. The first layer is a summary of the key points for a topic, with new vocabulary defined and major issues discussed. Vocabulary is linked to an online dictionary. Once a student has reviewed the topic at this level the next layer is presented. The next layer completely reviews the same topic at a level that is typical of introductory texts. The student then may enter a more advanced level to cover a more mathematical version of the material. I also discuss the power of web-based astronomical animations for instructional purposes.
