We present near infrared CMDs of intermediate age (>1 Gyr) populous clusters in the LMC, taken during the first science run with the Infrared Sideport Imager (ISPI) on the CTIO 4m. These observations reach a photometric depth of K ˜ 19 (S/N > 5), two magnitudes below the red clump (RC). The high precision photometry combined with the large field of view (>10 arcmin) allows us to calculate the K-band RC luminosity of both the clusters and their surrounding fields, which will be used to determine the mean distance and three dimensional geometry of the LMC.
