Scientific paper
The rectification and solution of the V light curve of the peculiar eclipsing binary RT Lacertae and previously unpublished data on which they are based are presented. Basic conclusions are that: (1) the less massive star is approximately filling its inner Roche lobe; (2) the more massive component has a lower luminosity, lower apparent surface brightness, and later spectral type, and is smaller than the other component; and (3) the photometric evidence points to a circumstellar envelope about this component.
