Based on a potential field model, calculations are made for the magnetic structure of the coronal condensation which appeared on the solar disk east limb during the September 1968 eclipse. Agreement is found between calculations and the observed coronal condensation contour. It is observed that the magnetic field which extends to the lower coronal region approximates the potential field during the steady period of an active region. The coronal condensation contour is taken as the projection of the magnetic tubes of the active region on a plane perpendicular to the line of sight.
