The collection area and energy threshold of a number of atmospheric Cerenkov detectors are estimated based on some recent Monte Carlo calculations of the light distributions from gamma-ray-induced air showers. These parameters permit absolute fluxes to be evaluated and the results of different experiments to be compared. Although the parameters used are for a 10-m optical reflector at an altitude of 2.3 km, the method outlined is general and can be applied to other detectors.
