The nature and properties of lunar agglutinates in relation to the kind of metamorphism described by Albee et al. (1973) are briefly considered. The properties of the agglutinates are compared with those of a lunar metaclastic particle which is believed to be the product of the extreme thermal metamorphism of an agglutinate. The results of electronprobe microanalyses of selected agglutinitic glasses are presented in a table. Attention is also given to the bulk chemical composition of some noritic metaclastic rocks and several highland rock types.
