Various recently calculated emissivity ratios for C III transitions within the n 2 complex are examined in the light of intensities newly observed with better spectral resolution than in the past. Absolute and relative intensities were calculated from the transition region model of Gabriel (1976), but lack of agreement between certain intensity ratios found by different observers does not allow firm conclusions regarding its validity to be made.
