The fundamental file of the stellar data base, the so-called "Catalog of Stellar Identifications" (C SI) developed at the Centre de Données Stellaires (CDS), is now available on microfiche, together with the selected data listed in table I. The CSI contains 434946 stars and has its limit of completeness at about 9.5 mag. in the visual; a general statistical summary about the availability of basic observational parameters is given in table II. A brief description of the services based on the CSI which are available at the CDS is given in paragraph four.
