The purpose of this paper is to study profiles of a line emitted by a luminous accretion disk rotating around a dense static and symmetrical body such as a black hole. The case of a ring at intermediate distance from the central mass is studied. An analytical expression is derived for the line profiles which appear to be asymmetric, two-peaked, blue- or red-shifted depending on the geometrical characteristics of the accretion disk. The different correlations between the shift, the width, and the asymmetry of the line profile are examined.
