We report radio observations of a recently discovered supernova remnant in the galaxy NGC4449 at wavelengths of 6, 21 and 49 cm. The first radio detection of the S&R was made in 1972 at a wavelength of 21 cm. The 6 cm data, which span a time interval of 7 years, suggest a variable flux density. The radio spectrum is still poorly defined. Some implications of these results for the early radio evolution of are discussed. We also report briefly on the results of a comparative study of photographic images of NGC4449 dating back to 1925.
