We present the results of an H-alpha survey of cool core and non-cool core galaxy clusters using the Maryland-Magellan Tunable Filter. These data are supplemented with high spatial resolution optical and X-ray imaging and spectroscopy, along with UV and radio imaging. These new data provide insights into both the origins and ionization mechanisms of the mysterious, filamentary, optical emission observed in the cores of many galaxy clusters. In this talk, I will briefly describe the successes of this survey, focusing on the latest results from deep, high resolution, optical spectroscopy of the cool filaments.
