The radio emission from a few binary systems is discussed. RS CVn stars,
the Algol-type systems CC Cassiopeae, AR Lacertae, Beta Persei, and the
X-ray emitting radio stars Cygnus X-3 and Sco X-1 are considered. A
brief historical review is given of research on this type of emission.
