Fermi/LAT has detected extra spectral components in several GRBs. Hadronic cascade triggered by photopion production can generate power-law spectra due to synchrotron or inverse Compton from secondary electrons/positrons. The observed extra components are explained by this cascade processes and could be signature of cosmic-ray acceleration in GRBs. Although the required bulk proton energies are larger than the photon energies, the observed density of ultra-high energy cosmic rays may require such a large amount of protons.
