The Cepheid PL relation is of paramount importance in astrophysics in establishing a distance scale that can be used to estimate Hubble's constant to better than 1% accuracy.
Here we present convincing evidence that the Cepheid PL relation in the LMC and SMC is a highly dynamic quantity which varies significantly when considered as a function of phase. We also present a detailed metallicity comparison of the mulitphase PL relations in the LMC and SMC.
