Recently, Aharonian et al. reported TeV variability in the blazar PKS
2155-304 that scaled with the cube of the synchrotron variability. As I
will discuss, this cubic behavior that challenges the common scenarios
for the TeV-blazar emission can be explained if the Lorentz factor of
the emitting plasma is significantly higher than usually presumed.
