Although Mexico is a very populated country, and the number of astronomers is limited, we are attempting to develop activities that will reach a large fraction of the population in celebration of the International Year of Astronomy in 2009.
We held a very successful event during the February 20th lunar eclipse, where we reached a large number of people in Mexico City and other locations. Furthermore, we are currently organizing "stellar parties” in several archaeological locations for November 2008. We view these activities as preparation for next year celebration.
In this presentation I will describe some of our plans for 2009..
