It is shown that a diffraction spectrometer with a resolution of 1 A can ensure a detection threshold of molecular oxygen of 1 ppb for a constant relative concentration of O2 in the entire atmosphere, 3 ppb when O2 is present only above 25 km, and 30 ppb when O2 is present only in the cloud layer. If these thresholds are raised, the diffraction spectrometer will make it possible to acquire data on the vertical profile of O2 concentration in the lower atmosphere of Venus.
