The Michigan-AEOS-Rice GRB Experiment (MARGE) collaboration responded to the Swift GRB alert and collected data on the optical counterpart of GRB 071003. In addition to data collected with the AEOS Burst Camera (ABC), members of the collaboration also collected data on the counterpart using the Broadband Array Spectrograph Sensor (BASS) 3-13 m IR spectrograph. Data were collected on two occasions with BASS; the night following the burst, and then a follow-up measurement made approximately one month after the burst.
We describe briefly the nature and status of the instrumental programs used to acquire the data, our data of record, our data analysis techniques, and our results. Current progress and future plans will also be described.
