Gamma-Ray Bursts, Batse Catalog Data, Fr And Tr, Statistical Analysis
Scientific paper
We define two quantities, FR and TR, which reflect the shapes of spectra and light curves of gamma-ray bursts, respectively. We employ the current BATSE catalog data, and make a statistical analysis. We find that the distribution of the two quantities for two classes of bursts may be generated from different sizes of emission regions. It seems that the difference of the two kinds of sources is intrinsic. Our results support the most accepted taxonomy of gamma-ray bursts.
