Quasat will provide observations of radio jets propagating through the broad line regions of active nuclei. Here evidence is presented that the radio emitting relativistic plasma and thermal gas in the broad line region interact with each other. The detailed effects produced in the radio and optical by such interactions on a larger scale are described and it is concluded that parsec-scale interactions will produce similar effects observable with Quasat.
