In this paper we investigate the stability of solar-type stars whose structure is determined by the PPI reaction according to the criterion of excess entropy production [1] of non-linear, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, taking into account the mass loss in the reaction. Our result is: the star is certainly stable if the hydrogen-to-helium ratio satisfies the inequality x/y<8.916(1+0.563A3/A1β -0.163ay1/1- ay1) This is to be compared with x/y<9.2, derived previously [2], on neglecting the mass loss. (β~10-4, a ~10-2)
