Drag-free control of the two test-masses within the each L.I.S.A. (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) spacecraft is considered. The baseline concept of actuating the masses to counter the gravity gradient produced by the spacecraft is reviewed. It is shown that this method causes instability or excessive transference of acceleration noise to the masses. An alternative approach is suggested by the author that fulfills the necessary performance requirements. .
