We study the generation of a background of gravitational waves (GWs) produced from a cosmological Population of core-collapse supernovae in an explosive scenario of structure formation of the Universe. We show that these pre-galactic supernovae can produce a stochastic background of gravitational waves with maximum amplitude as high as hBG~10-22 at frequency of ~50Hz. This background of GWs will probably be detected by VIRGO and LIGO. .
