Faraday rotation measurements of radio sources in rich clusters indicate that the general cluster magnetic field is probably highly tangled. Using dimensional analysis, the paper investigates the role of the turbulent wakes behind cluster galaxies in creating this field. It is concluded that the wakes are sufficient to explain both the strength and the morphology of the observed field.
