The compositions of chlorapatite and whitlockite from three representative ordinary chondrites were determined with the electron microprobe. The chlorapatite has essentially the definite suggestions at this time as to where the fluorine in chondrites is located. suggestions that the fluorine might be in either an unidentified mineral phase or present in trace amounts in other chondritic minerals such as the pyroxenes adequately cover existing possibilities.
