The paper estimates time scales for mixing due to instabilities associated with perturbation of a given angular velocity distribution in a rotating star. In the fully developed instability, eddies transporting angular momentum are destroyed before they can move through a distance greater than their thickness. This reduction of the mean free path of the eddies makes the time scale for redistribution of angular momentum through the star comparable with the Eddington-Vogt scale.
