New observations of the profiles of the H-alpha line over the face of N59A (DEM 241) have been combined with previous profiles, at lower angular resolution, of the forbidden O II lines. A 'bubble' of 16 pc in diameter, which is expanding at 50 km/s, is apparently present within the 40 pc diameter of this LMC giant shell. However, complex and broad profiles are found well away from the core. Several theoretical models are considered for the formation of this, and other LMC giant shells.
