New polarized and total radio intensity maps of the radio galaxy 1919 + 479 at 0.61, 1.4, and 5.0 GHz are presented. This galaxy is the largest known cluster source, with lobe lengths of about 700 kpc and an overall extent of about 1.2 Mpc. Spectral index maps derived from the multifrequency observations show a flat spectrum source coincident with the parent galaxy and gradual steepening of the emission out into the lobes, reaching values as steep as 1.2 at the extremities of both lobes. Significant polarized intensity is detected at all three frequencies. The depolarization between matched maps is examined and used to calculate approximate thermal plasma densities and masses in the diffuse components. The development of the source structure is discussed, and it is concluded that buoyancy may be responsible for shaping the largest scale structure of the source.
