Response functions and eigenvalues have been computed for zero-age main-sequence stellar models of 0.8, 1.0 and 1.3 solar masses. The properties of the damped oscillations in the tail of the response functions are compared with the eigenvalues of the secular modes. It is found that these oscillations correspond to the complex secular mode with the least damping.
