Analysis of published data shows that the expansion velocity of the envelope ejected by Nova Del 1967 (HR Del) has decreased with time. The change in the width of narrow emission lines is discussed. Both these effects can be understood if the nova is surrounded by an extended circumstellar envelope. Outbursts of ultraslow novae could be responsible for producing at least some planetary nebulae.
