Relative emission-line intensities in the spectral region from 3700 to 7300 A are presented for 23 planetary nebulae that are regarded as 'classical' but are characterized by a lower degree of excitation. Values are determined for the observed interstellar absorption in the H-beta line, and electron temperatures and densities are computed from the relative intensities of various forbidden lines. Differences between the spectra of several of the investigated objects are discussed. It is noted that most of the nitrogen in planetaries with a sufficiently high degree of ionization should be doubly ionized.
