It is shown that the stochasticization of equatorial magnetospheric ions
on MHD waves in the Pc2-3 range is accompanied by ion acceleration. The
energy increase of 20-keV ions amounts to 3-10 keV. It is concluded that
stochasticization of equatorial ions on MHD waves is an efficient
mechanism for the heating of ring-current particles.
