It is shown that the value of the general precession constant adopted in
1976 induces a rather small change in stellar proper motions. A simple
technique is described for taking this change into account. As examples,
the proper motions of Alpha Eri, Alpha Aur, and Alpha Boo are corrected
by using the proposed technique.
