The H II region G 36 situated in the Carina region on the edge of an absorption region has been scanned at H-alpha wavelength with the CIGALE instrument. The field size was 7 arcmin diameter. Noticeable internal motions have been found inside this nebula. The radial velocity measured at the barycenter of the H-alpha line profile gradually increases over the field from a velocity of -20 km/s to the north and west to -5 km/s toward the lower intensity emission area to the east. These motions are interpreted as a flow of ionized gas receding from the molecular cloud in the framework of the 'champagne model'. In an area of 0.5 x 0.8 pc, the profile of the H-alpha line is split or broadened, the separation of the components reaching sometimes 60 km/s at one position. The splittings appear to coincide with maxima of integrated H-alpha emission and may be explained by the presence of various globules inside the nebula. The B 0 V star situated in the diffuse component is the main exciting star. It implies that G 36 is at a distance of 2700 pc and has a diameter of 5 pc.
