Experimentally determined phase equilibria are related to the igneous processes which produced the eucrites and their associates. Melting experiments involving a sample of the Juvinas eucrite had been conducted at 1 atm total pressure and various oxygen fugacities. A projection of a low pressure liquidus diagram relevant to eucrite crystallization is presented. The possibility is considered that the eucrites may have formed by partial melting of the primitive material of the eucrite parent body.
