The papers presented in this volume provide an overview of recent theoretical and experimental research related to cosmic rays. Topics discussed include hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus interactions in the ultrahigh energy region and extensive air shower data; superheavy hadrons in cosmic rays; radial distribution of gamma quanta in families with a halo; and a multichannel analog process for measuring the number of particles in halo microjets in an X-ray emulsion chamber. Papers are also presented on the energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays in the energy region 10 exp 13 - 10 exp 18 eV based on data from the Tien-Shan array; motion of charged particles with energies greater than 10 exp 19 in the magnetic field of the Galaxy; and characteristics of extensive air showers based on data from the Yakutsk array.
