Results of observations of the (C-12)O (J = 1-0) line of the edge-on galaxy NGC 891, made from January 8 to 17, 1992 using the Nobeyama 45-m telescope, are used to derive the radial distributions of the molecular gas density and the surface mass density. Results indicate the presence of (1) a molecular gas ring of 3.5 kpc radius associated with an extended outer disk having a flat rotation, (2) a rigidly rotating inner disk or a bar of 3 kpc radius, and (3) a compact nuclear component showing a rigid rotation and high-velocity dispersion. On the basis of the molecular ring structure and kinematical characteristics, it is concluded that NGC 891 is an SBb galaxy. An I(CO) map is obtained toward the tangential direction of the molecular ring within the main disk, which indicates the presence of a molecular gas spur extending for a few scale heights of the disk.
