We have imaged nine fields through a system of narrow-band filters, in order to search for Ly-alpha emission from primeval galaxies at z of 2.2-3.3. We report here on our inability to detect emission-line objects down to a 1-sigma brightness threshold of 5.6 x 10 exp -17 erg/sq cm per sec per sq arcsec, with a limiting space density of less than 20 objects/sq deg. These results are in disagreement with simple models by about a factor of 10.
