A shift of the symmetry axis of the main conal components relative to the central component was discovered in the mean profile of PSR B0329+54; this shift increases with decreasing frequency. This effect is accounted for by the combined influence of aberration and retardation, and is related to the difference Delta(r) ~ 10^8 cm in the levels where the emission at 103 and 10,700 MHz is formed. The conal components are generated r ~ 10^9 cm from the center of the neutron star by the Cerenkov resonance, while the cyclotron mechanism is responsible for the formation of the central component in deeper layers of the magnetosphere (r ~ 108 cm).
