21 cm neutral hydrogen (HI) line observations of the Cygnus Loop supernova remnant made with the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory's (DRAO) Synthesis Telescope and the 26 m Telescope are analyzed in this work. A large coherent ring structure is found extending from the southeast rim into the center of the Cygnus Loop. A second large structure is found which wraps around the southern and western limb of the southern extension of the Cygnus Loop. Both structures are also identified in the IRAS all-sky survey maps of the region. HI and dust column densities were found as a function of position using the DRAO HI data and IRAS data. The velocity structure of the HI is compared to simple models for the origin of the HI structures such as pre-supernova stellar wind shells and collisions of pre-supernova stellar wind shells.
