The 25 m Dwingeloo Radio Telescope was used to obtain maps of the OH clouds near the Mon OB 1 and Mon OB 2 associations. In the main lines the total extent of the clouds was traced. The satellite lines were observed at a few positions. Masses were derived for the two complexes of, respectively, 110,000 and 230,000 solar masses, which are equal within the errors to those derived from CO measurements by Blitz. The mean density within the complexes is low, about 75 H2 molecules per cu cm, but they consist of clumps with a higher density. The L 1605 cloud shows a velocity gradient, which if interpreted as rotation points to a period of 48 million years. The OH map deviates from the CO in an area of high CO temperatures near the Rosette Nebula.
