We have successfully conducted Chandra Multiwavelength Plane (ChaMPlane) Survey for three years. ChaMPlane is a project to systematically identify and analyze the serendipitous X-ray sources in Chandra archive in order to determine the populations of accretion-powered binaries in the Galaxy. The ChaMPlane Optical Survey is the optical follow-up using CTIO and KPNO 4m telescopes to identify counterparts of the Chandra sources for subsequent spectroscopy observations and classifications. In the past three years, we have observed 30 Mosaic fields (FoV: 36'}x36{') in V, R, I and Hα bands which cover more than ten square degrees and 47 Chandra ACIS observations in the galactic plane. For the several thousand detected serendipitous X-ray sources, a significant fraction (more than 50% for moderately reddened fields) of their optical counterparts are identified. Spectroscopic follow-ups for those optical counterparts and Hα emission sources have been conducted on 14 of the fields using the WIYN (3.5-m), Magellan (6.5-m) and MMT (6.5m) telescopes. Several new CVs, including the first X-ray-CV, Be-HMXB, and many new AGNs have been found. As part of the NOAO survey program, we are delivering the final stacked and calibrated deep images to NOAO archive, which will be available to the public. This work is supported by NASA/SAO grant AR1-2001X, AR2-3002A and NSF grant AST-0098683.
