Statistical studies of the spectral evolution of cosmic gamma-ray bursts are performed, based on the procedure of peak aligned averaging. Using BATSE data with 16 energy channels measured on the 2048 ms time scale, two-dimensional surfaces representing the average spectral density evolution are created for three intensity groups of bursts. The basic signatures of spectral density evolution are found for the group of brightest events. Comparisons are performed among the basic properties of the average spectral density evolution of three intensity groups of bright, medium and dim bursts.
