We present first physics results from the ultra high energy cosmic ray
data collected with the southern Pierre Auger Observatory: A search for
anisotropies near the direction of the Galactic Centre, a limit on the
photon fraction in cosmic rays with energies above 1019 eV and an
estimate of the differential energy spectrum above 3.1018 eV.
