We present W isotope data for lunar metals that preserved the indigenous
W isotope composition of their host rocks and reveal W isotope
heterogeneities in the lunar mantle, indicating that the final
crystallization of the lunar magma ocean occurred 42+/-4 Myr after the
start of the solar system.
