Scientific paper

Some topics in the formation and early evolution of protoplanetary gas-dust disks around single solar-type stars are discussed. A new class of disk models is proposed, whose parameters are the disk mass and angular momentum as well as the mass and luminosity of the central star. Since disks may persist for fully 10 to the 8th yr, a search for them among the members of decaying clusters would be worthwhile
