A photometric UBV study of the β Lyrae-type eclipsing binaries RY Ind and ST Car is presented. Light and color curves are constructed from 430 and 750 individual observations in each passband, respectively, and updated ephemerides are given. Although partial eclipses in both light curves made the analysis somewhat difficult, a first classical approach to the orbital elements is given. While either a transit or an occultation is possible for RY Ind primary minimum, only a transit in this minimum yields a consistent solution for ST Car.
