Asteroids with diameters D greater than 260 km have a mass distribution
index of 1.58 + or - 0.25 whereas asteroids with D in the range of
248-130 km have a mass distribution index of 2.02 + or - 0.14. It is
thought that the transition region 260-248 km separates the 'original'
asteroids from the collisional fragments of this initial population.
